A weekend in the beautiful Cotswolds

So my dad turned 60 in May and for his prezzie, we got him a weekend in a Cottage in the Cotswolds. We just got back from there and now I want to live there pleeeeease!

If you wonder down the residential areas it is just bliss, near silence only for birds singing, so tranquil and gorgeous stone cottage after stone cottage.

I chose Stow-on-the Wold as it seemed a bit busier with more boutiques, cafes and pubs than some of the other villages. I went with Richard, my sister and boyfriend, my nephew, my mum and my dad. I picked a three bed cottage which I booked on Booking.com and it was stunning.

It did rain on the Friday night quite heavily but we ate in and had some drinks/played some games. Saturday, the weather was much better so we strolled around the town.

I just love visiting charity shops and so does my mum. I found a beaut faux fur coat for next winter and Mum bought a gorgeous boho pink top from a boutique there.

Saturday evening became really sunny so we sat in the sunshine in the cottage garden with some drinks which was bliss!

On Saturday night, I’d booked ‘The Bell Inn’ which is a  gastro pub and the food although a bit pricey, was delish! I had duck and they also had my fave ever wineWhispering Angel‘ – if you haven’t tried it, you must!

On Sunday, we drove to the next village of ‘Bourton-on-the-water‘. I have been before by my parents hadn’t and they loved it! It’s setting is magical with a little stream and bridges running through it. We’d packed a picnic to sit on the grass and eat which was lovely. It was very very busy which is the only problem with the Cotswolds. It is extremely popular with tourists so pick your days carefully.

I’d highly recommend visiting the Cotswolds if you haven’t been especially the areas we visited! Next on my list is Bourton which we drove through on the way back to London.
